God Loves Us All

No person’s life is better than another’s. We all are loved by Jehovah our heavenly father.

Good evening dear reader, remember I told you that this blog was an opportunity to let out most of my thoughts. So sneak peek into my mind today is the life of Jephthah, yes Jephthah, the “Baba for the boys”. His story is captured in the book of Judges Chapter 11.    

What’s interesting about him? 
You know Jephthah was a child of circumstance, born by a prostitute to a man named Gilead, (the type G.O.T fans would call Bastard son of Gilead) he was hated by his brothers and was driven away from home so that he would not share from their inheritance.  

According to the bible, Jephthah after he left home, lived in the land of Tob, he became friends with worthless and unprincipled men and they went on raids together. See this is why I called him “baba for the boys”, he was more or less a bandit raiding villages. 

A good for nothing, a nuisance! 

But all hope wasn’t lost for jephthah. 
 Somehow, there was trouble in Israel again and the people needed a warrior, a leader to lead them to battle.  
Your guess is as good as mine dear reader, they had the effrontery to call their brother Jephthah.   

Pause, wait, wait, and take a deep breath.

I know you want to imagine what Jephthah’s response would be…hmm if it was me ehn… (smiles) 
...anyway Jephthah went to battle, won and judged Israel for six years.

Here is the crux. 
Before jephthah went to battle he poured his heart out to the Lord and the Lord gave him victory. The bible records that the spirit of God came upon Jephthah. Don’t forget this is our bandit Jephthah, baba for the boys, the son of the prostitute that was hated by his siblings. 

See, our all-powerful God who is holy and doesn’t behold iniquity is ever willing and ready accept us when we call. God who did not withhold His son for our salvation, how shall He now reject out prayer of repentance?

So to you dear reader, I do not know how much rejection you have suffered that may have driven you away from the presence of God. I want you to know that God is ready and waiting with open ears for your call. 

You may be like bandit Jephthah, Judas the snitch, or even coconut head Jonah but for these ‘J’s there is a better ‘J’ in Jesus who is ever ready to help if you ask.

It’s the first time I am writing a blog post, yippee!  There is a lot on my mind, so this blog is sort of a mind journal where you get the privilege of knowing what my ever busy mind thinks about. Just like I promised here is the sequel. Good morning once again. Before I actually begin let me ask, did we work with the last charge of do not conform, renew your mind and prove? I am hoping we did. If you didn’t review the last message here and continue with this sequel. In my study of bible characters that lived in similar ungodly times like us, four friends  from the bible struck me the most. They are our models for today. And introducing them in christianese  they are- Bro. Daniel, Bro. Hananiah, Bro Mishael and Bro.
