Truly God:

Hey reader, I missed you.

 Do you ever think about what differentiates God from man?  Funny question, right?

The correct answer is everything. God is both transcendent and immanent. Hallelujah! He is great. Words are not really enough to describe our Creator, the beginning and the end.

I want to point out something that makes God’s nature super. You see God is sui generis. I really do not know the English term to use here. He cannot be influenced or encultured by the society. He is just God. He knows right from wrong, the ever good God in whom there is no evil.

Do you remember Mahlah, Noah, Hogla, Milkah, and Tirzah;  Zelophehad’s daughters? Their father died in the wilderness during the journey from Egypt and they were supposed to inherit their father's property as they had no brothers to inherit it. This was countercultural. They brought their case before Moses, and Moses in turn brought their case before the Lord.

Stop right there, that's the point!

You see, Moses was surely confused about this point. He, being a man, at that time, had been shaped by the culture of the times. He also believed that, ordinarily, women couldn't inherit, but he saw a point in their petition. In order not to make a blunder, he inquired of the Lord; Hallelujah!

Again, God is good.

God ruled by saying that Zelophehad’s daughters were right. They must certainly get their father's property.

See, that's the point. God did not sanction the culture of the day; rather, He did what He does: always the right thing. Even when it was countercultural.

Do you remember Jesus' account with the adulterous woman?  According to the tradition of the time, the woman is supposed to be stoned to death together with her paramour.

But when this test came to Jesus, He did not say, The law is the law; find the man and stone both of them. No, unlike Moses, our Lord knew what to do. He wasn't taken aback by the test. “He who is without sin among you, should be the first to cast a stone” that ended the whole story.

Jesus is truly God! Just like the father ruled for Zelophehad’s daughters, so Jesus did for the adulterous woman. Without a shadow of doubt or the need to inquire from another source, Hallelujah!

Just like I promised here is the sequel. Good morning once again. Before I actually begin let me ask, did we work with the last charge of do not conform, renew your mind and prove? I am hoping we did. If you didn’t review the last message here and continue with this sequel. In my study of bible characters that lived in similar ungodly times like us, four friends  from the bible struck me the most. They are our models for today. And introducing them in christianese  they are- Bro. Daniel, Bro. Hananiah, Bro Mishael and Bro.
